What is Brow Lamination?

Brow lamination is a non-invasive, semi-permanent treatment that creates natural-looking, brushed-up brows, but without the need for needles or microblading. This treatment straightens and lifts the eyebrow hairs, and it’s designed to give your eyebrows a thicker, smoother appearance.

What happens during a brow lamination treatment?

The first step is a consultation with a brow artist at Summit Aesthetics. The details of the brow lamination treatment are discussed so that you’re very aware of what to expect. Most importantly, your vision for your brows is covered in detail so that you can establish the look you want to achieve.

Once you are ready to begin, the next step is the application of the lift lotion with a micro brush. This lotion is a chemical solution to straighten the hairs of each eyebrow. The chemical treatment ultimately leaves the hairs more flexible, which allows them to cover gaps and sparse areas and be moved into an attractive brow shape.

After the lotion is applied, a strip of saran wrap is placed across both brows. This is left for seven minutes, then removed with gauze. A fixing solution is next applied to each brow with a micro brush, and saran wrap is again placed across the brows. This is left in place for five minutes, then removed with gauze. This fixing solution helps to lock the shape of the brows in place.

The treatment concludes with a nourishing brow serum applied to the brows, which are then covered again with saran wrap for five more minutes. This serum helps replenish the moisture lost during the chemical treatment. As a final step, your brow artist may trim the brows to further perfect their even, exact shape. The process takes about 30-40 minutes, leaving you with thicker, enhanced and attractive brows.

Am I a candidate for brow lamination?

Almost everyone is a candidate for brow lamination who has common brow complaints.

People who have the following concerns may be perfect candidates for brow lamination:

small gaps or especially thin spots
unruly hairs that tend to go different directions despite brushing them
a lack of shape or unevenness

Brow lamination is not recommended for those who:

have major gaps or patches of missing hair
have sensitive skin, rosacea or eczema
have a history of contact dermatitis

How long does brow lamination last, and are there any special ways to care for my brows once the treatment is complete?

This treatment lasts about two months.

We will apply a moisturizing oil or cream to your brows immediately after treatment. You should continue to apply this product at home to help maintain brow health.

For the first day, don’t wet or rub your eyebrows, apply makeup or other creams or oils to the brows, or have a sauna treatment or other high-perspiration activity (steam room, hot yoga).
