How does a PDO thread lift work?

A PDO thread lift is a minimally invasive alternative to facelift surgery, designed to rejuvenate and lift sagging skin.

Before your treatment, your skin will be marked in the places the threads will be inserted. You will receive a local anesthetic, and then the PDO threads will be inserted.

PDO threads are attached to a long cannula (a blunt-tipped needle). The cannula will be pushed through the tissue beneath the skin until the thread has reached its final position. This process will be repeated with a number of threads. Each thread acts as an anchor as the skin is lifted upwards. The threads will then be massaged to ensure the tissue is smooth.

A PDO thread lift mechanically results in instant skin lifting. It also contracts fat tissue and promotes collagen production, which renews your skin at the cellular level. Your face is instantly lifted and tightened, resulting in fewer lines and wrinkles, and a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance.

What results and recovery time can I expect from a PDO thread lift?

The procedure only takes about an hour, and there is no downtime necessary. Recovery is minimal, although the puncture points of the threads will take a few weeks to heal. You may feel soreness or have some redness during that time.

The results of your PDO thread lift can be seen right away. The thicker threads (cog and screw threads) will need a bit longer before you see the full results. They are boosting collagen, and it takes your body some time to build the volume and transform the skin naturally. It will be about 2-3 months before the final results of these threads are fully visible.
